Beetlejuice Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Thainess..... Most definitely not "Thainess", there were 2 people involved in the exchange with 2 completely differing view points. Your post smacked, however, of "ThaiVisa-ness" all over. ...what is "Thainess"?...... certainly can't be stupidity, ignorance, maliciousness et... since these are general traits shared by humanity. The meaning of Thainess when mentioned on Thai visa is a discrete way the posters are saying; Thais all have the same traits in a derogatory form, mostly meaning are unintelligent and reckless, or in other words inferior. It`s really a racist description of Thais quoted in a subtle way that these posters believe makes their racism sound more acceptable. To them Thainess covers a multitude of derogatory descriptions about Thailand and the Thai people. I think there should be more categories of (NESS) added to the list, including Farangness, another subtle way to describe bigoted, superiority minded people and pig ignorance. 1
HeijoshinCool Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 To all of you who repeatedly, heatedly, argue Thailand is a first world country, I say
Beetlejuice Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Introducing the offspring of the mating of THAINESS with TRUTHINESS -- this "driver" and many thousands just like him. Jingthing: when anyone mentions what you consider as being derogatory or disrespectful to Jews and Israel you are very quickly on the defensive, then you quote Thainess and truth in bold letters that means you consider Thais are never truthful and have no sense of reality. Don`t you think this makes you appear rather hypocritical and nothing more than a racist and bigot yourself? Or do you believe that it is justifiable to be bigoted against certain people and not to others?

Popular Post Loles Posted December 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2014 This is a classic story. And when the big problem comes, and he has killed already 6-10 persons. this dumb IDIOT: 1. flees the scene 2. when police caught him, starts to talk about some bad luck 3. says solli, solli 4. gets some unbelievable soft punishment 5. goes back to drive van, and kills more. Odious troll personal baiting attack posts like yours are worthless and life is too short to bother with such garbage. So objecting to racist comments is being an Odious troll and nothing more than garbage is it? Considered a personal attack post on comments other than just pointing out what I and many others may find deeply offensive. Very convenient, at least you can justify that as not having to respond. I suggest you read my post again, I have merely picked up on what you have said, not accused you of anything but have asked some questions. My previous post still stands, also unsavory deeds committed by one or a few Thai persons does not describe all Thai people as a whole, there are the good, the bad and the ugly in all nations and among all peoples.
hgvneil Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Interrogating the driver while he is in 'high speed, split second mistake causes major death mode' is probably not the wisest thing to do. You can see the guy getting more and more wound up by her, taking his attention off the road ahead. I think she should of tried to calmly tell him to "slow down please" a few times. He then would of either complied with a "oh so sorry good customer" but more likely replied with a sarcastic comment and a laugh to himself. Then she should close her eyes, prey to buddah, and then if I was her,the next time the van came to a stop, grab my bag, jump out the door, get a taxi from wherever you are. With the knowledge that you will live to see another day.

I agree that there is a strong undercurrent of racism on TV. Some of the issue are well founded though such as the common disregard for safety and inability as a society to accept constructive criticism . These are things that people are/should be taught . In my opinion it's the education system that is at fault . Certainly not a biological issue. That's absurd.
simonuk Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I just did a visarun to Vientiane. The driver never exceeded 120kmh, but did tailgating all over the time which led into a couple of critical situations. This van hat seat belts for every seats, but nobody used it. We were only farangs.but using seat belts is personal choice, or you mister nannystate? Have you seen the way people fly around inside a car as it rolls over, smashing into each other. Skulls shattering , bones breaking organs tearing internally? I've seen the after effects many many times through my profession. Seat belts save lives of all in thé vehicle not just the wearer. 1
tgeezer Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Friends tell,e that the driver got fined 4000B and 1000 b for impoliteness to the passenger. Apparently he hasn't got a licence so they expect more trouble for him. 1

NomadJoe Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Courageous for her to speak up and skillful as well, as she sounds calm and collected.Courageous is a bit strong - all she did was ask the minivan driver to slow down. ... ...and held a several minute long conversation asking several follow up questions...and video the whole thing...while being a woman in a patriarchal, hierarchical society.. with a Thai male that perceives himself as some kind of authority. Courageous is perhaps not strong enough. I was courageous when a taxi driver came at me with a crow bar and stood my ground in a Kung <deleted> stance. Dutch courage but courage all the same. Courageous is not the first word to come to mind there.

green job Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 This is just for the van driver, I would 100 % feel safer. Maybe they should give the poor old soy-dogsa chance?? 2
green job Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Courageous for her to speak up and skillful as well, as she sounds calm and collected. Yes I agree,if it had been my wife,it would of been BLAA blaa blaa blaa 2000 times Why do thai woman have such a large gob, thats what I would like to know?
lee b Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I know how this girl felt, same as many of us do here. I had to travel from CM to Mai Sai on one of these things. 2 vans left, the first one 1 hour before us, and us in the second van. We made it to Mai Sai before the first van, I still don't know to this day how we managed to stay on the road, especailly going through Chaing Rai with the bendy roads. These idiots have no care about the lifes of there passengers, we are mearly like something you tread in on the street.
