Try the area around Soi Buakhow & Soi Honey Inn , plenty of hotels in that price range there. I usually stay at Apex Hotel - 500b decent air room , tv, hot water & just a short stroll to the beach and the action.

Britmaverick recomended the Welcome Plaza to me and I was quite pleased. Better rooms than the APEX and the swimming pool is HUGE. Close to walking street and Royal Plaza shopping mall.

No problem with visitors. :o

Where abouts in Pattaya do you want to be located, or does it matter ?

A buddy of mine stays at a certain hotel all the time, because he likes to be able to walk out of the lobby and see nothing but bars and clubs in front of him.

Others prefer a quieter location, or something close to the beach, or simply to be closer to their favourite haunts.

No shortage of choices here ! :o

Good spot and central - not alot one could ask for IMHO. Staff is fab - course been staying there for years, so they all know me. :D

I once spent a night in a 600 baht per night place on Soi Buckao.

Never again! A fairer price for the accomodation on offer would have been 60 baht per night.

Nasty, real nasty :o

But i guess the mongers scrimp on accomodation so they can blast more ladyboys and the like :D

Welcome plaza hotel is infested with bed bugs. Huge problem for victims , especially if your're allergic to insects living off your blood.

"Shagwell mansions" Love the title of this one ! I wonder what goes on there ? Joking aside "roof garden inn" just up on the road to Jontiem is real good and clean, Best value to eat one good meal a day "Lec hotel" second rd, nice place to take a girl for an evening meal 110 bhat each self sevice, this is the best advice I was given, hope it helps you ! ...................Roy

If you want to be near Walking St, the JASMINE HOTEL, 50 meters down Soi BJ (just past HAPPY AGOGO) is new, has very nice rooms with cooking facilities. Free internet, nice restaruant, surprisingly quiet considering the area. Cons are no elevator, cable tv selection is sparce, no in-room safe: lock boxes in lobby.

Not as cheap as 500-700 a night but the Penthouse Hotel has to tried just for the experience.

1000....ish

Cheers
