jay1980 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 My friend wants to repaint the outside of his house, he used the exterior paint in Thailand he bought from Homepro but it does not adhere to the wall as as the wall is dusty as if it was a distemper type wash proir ? He wants to know the best way to seal the wall so it can be repainted with new type of paint, or if it is best to get another distemper type paint. Any advise and recomendations on the manafactures and product names of what he needs would be most welcome.
Soutpeel Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Jotun, or International paints, both high quality international brands and freely available in Thailand 2
Beardog Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 We used Dulux all weather on 4 houses we have & had The paint is superb. The best primer will be a clear contact primer The stinkier the better. Soutpeel I am shocked out of 17,864 posts you actually now have 2 posts that you didn't have to google & were helpful LOL 1
IMHO Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 If the surface is dusty like you say, you will need a primer designed for old cement first. Dulux make a very good one, which goes on clear and seals very well. After that, a lot depends on how much you want to spend - pretty much all brands are very good in their top of range paint, and pretty average in their bottom of range paint. One of the more expensive Dulux or TOA paints are our go-to's when we don't want to be repainting anytime soon. 2

Of course not. They even know how to orient rebar properly and cure concrete 2
