Plasma TV's use roughly double the energy than say LED of comparable size. If you watch a lot of TV, that can make a difference, otherwise probably not significant.

Your best option is to research the brand + model online and find some spec sheets. Generally speaking, a plasma of the same size and resolution as a backlit LCD will draw more power, but there's some LCD's out there that are pretty inefficient too.

Going from the calculator in your first link, and assuming that the OP would watch 5 hours each day, that would make a difference of roughly 220 Baht in electricity cost A YEAR.

Time to start a think tank on this one I guess.
