Gprs Revisited

Since I am NOT so patiently waiting for TOT to hook up my Ipstar I have been forced to use GPRS. It is usable and I just checked the speed;

Your current bandwidth reading is:

45.90kbps

which means you can download at 5.74 KB/sec. from our servers.

I am using a Billionton Bluetooth dongle and my Nokia 6230 phone. I am confused by AIS because the first GPRS package was 5 hours for 50 baht. Yesterday the five hours ran out and I could not renew the service. I called the AIS 1175 number and asked the girl to sign me up again. It appears you have to cancel the service and then restart a new service. ???? The girl was kind enough to do all that for me and I ended up with a 10 hour package for 50 baht. If you don't sign up for the prepaid package an hour will cost about 50 baht. Other than the confusing price and the sign up procedure it works better than my old Loxinfo Ipstar was working before I canceled it.

To start the prepaid GPRS sign up, dial *138 and follow the instructions. To check your balance dial *139. To contact AIS GPRS service dial 1175.
