Sawadee khrap and good morning.

Oh my good - here in Mai Khao is the last place from Phuket where you have silence and normal prices. How long.

First the Lotus come to Thalang, now the Homepro and the Macro.

In Mai Khao now first it was the 7 eleven and now we get a SUPERCHEAP. The Lotus Express is also looking for a location

and built the next supermarket.

Hope this goes not to fast like in the south where only is trafficjam.

Building work near the airport has increased significantly. Apart from the large 'The Terminal' project, there is a 70-room hotel being built next to my old hotel, (glad I sold out). plus a hotel expansion on the same road, plus 3 new condo projects on that road, plus a new 7-floor condo across from that location, plus another new condo going up next to it, plus, plus,plus...

Really, with the world economy what it is and general lack of confidence in Thailand, I'm not convinced the demand exists for all these new accommodation projects.

When I moved to Ao Por, I estimated it will take 15-20 years before this location would become Kamala. Kamala because it's one of the places in Phuket I remember seeing the change happening during the last 12-13 years, when I first visited the location.

Now I have been living here for 5 years and there has been some changes. The traffic from Bang Rong towards the two ladies roundabout is getting more and more intense, to the level it's not always a nice road to ride with scooter anymore.

In a way it's nice to get more services and generally more life up in the north, but the downside is the traffic. Phuket will be separated to north and south. New services up north and the horrible traffic on the island will result that there will be less and less interaction between people from north and south. Maybe in the future the Thepkasattri road will be another divider, unless there will be better ways to handle east-west traffic flow at the two ladies monument, Thalang and Muang Mai intersections.
