Phitsanulok Hospital for father-in-law

Featured Replies

My first visit to the village (Bang Rakam, about an hour from Phits) in more than a year. My girl's dad (82 years old) is having a lot of difficulty with what I am told is a case of gout, both feet, quite painful. We went to the clinic this afternoon, the rushed doctor gave him an anti-inflammatory injection and limited dietary advice. There might have been problems for a long time. I want the old boy to go to a hospital tomorrow, have him seen for an initial consult, necessary blood work and follow up consult. I'll only be here for five more days and want to leave him better off.

I don't want to pay Bangkok Hospital prices. Where should I take him (the place should respect him as a patient, simple farmer though he is?)

Thanks

You could try the Naresuan University Hospital, but no guarantees it will really meet your criteria as they too may be rushed.

The other option would be to ask the nurses in the OPD there if there is a rheumatologist or good internist there who has a private practice in town and if so, where.

Try to go to Samitivej Hospital. It is reasonably priced. Many, somewhat, better off thais go there. The most expensive hospital in Phitsanulok is Pitsanuvej hospital.

The big gov't hospital Phutchinarat is the best and cheapest,
