I've screwed up my passport

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I am entering thailand on the 25th of March, and am leaving on the 22nd of May via moscow, i have been told that I may have trouble getting back to the UK.

My passport (UK) expires on the 1st of November 2015, I have a visa being processed currently so I cant get hold of my passport, and I cant use the fast track services that the UK provides due to it being my 1st new adult passport (I'm 20 now)

So, what are my options? How easy is it to get an emergency travel document when in bangkok?

Answers asap would really be appreciated, thanks

If you are a British citizen, you don't need a passport to get into the UK. You'll have no problem.

But apparently i'll be declined entry by the airline taking me back to the UK? As I'm connecting at VKO airport

Apparently the airline needs to follow russian law, which is that it needs to be valid for 6 months or more when entering russia.

So I'll 100% be able to board my flight in bangkok with 5 months left, and connect in russia?

If anyone could confirm this it would be a great sigh of relief, freaking out at the moment over this!

See the edit of my post.

Thanks for this information, should i print that information off and give it to misinformed airline staff if needed? Or is it common knowledge

The airline can access the same IATA database info that you get from that website.

You could print it out as back up.

If anyone else has experience with this kind of thing then please either comment/pm me so I have further assurance that it's all fine
