2nd Thailand MICE Mart kicks off

CHIANG MAI, 27 March 2015 (NNT) – Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched the 2nd Thailand MICE Mart event, successfully pushing Chiang Mai province as the MICE industry center for the upper northern region.

The Governor of Chiang Mai Suriya Prasartbandit presided over the opening of the 2nd Thailand MICE Mart at Chiang Mai International Convention and Exhibition Center to develop the province as the center for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry for the upper northern region of the country.

Chiang Mai has high potential to be a center for MICE, with the province's strategy focusing on the promotion of the regional market under the GMS/BIMSTEC and Sister Cities cooperation. The goal is to upgrade the province as an international convention destination within the next 2-3 years.

90 buyers are reported to be participating in this event, while MICE entrepreneurs would use the event as a stage for business negotiations. Approximately 25 million baht in circulating the MICE business in the region.
