I'm returning after about 5 months but with a current Non Imm O ext that's still good for another several months. I will give immigration a new address (significant distance from old one) at ailrport. Will I still need to update my new address with local Imm in new locality? And, since I need to update/apply for new Driv lisc, reg vehicle, before a 90 day report will I need a new proof of residence for that from my new imm office? I'm just trying to avoid ruffling feathers and perhaps extra trips to US Emb for funds certification/affidavit. Advice/Tips requested.

You are on extension of stay, not "NI/O". You need to check with the immigration at your new place what needs to be done to do your reports there, because regulations has been passed imposing you can only do reports at the office that issued your extension. The alternative would be doing report by email or online if that will be working.

Sam you will need to check with local DLT office.

OK Paz, I did a poor job of explaining. I was in Hua Hinn and received an ext of stay for retirement. My original visa permission to stay allowed me to remain until 12 Feb 2015 (90) but 13 Jan 2015--at the same time I requested an extension for retirement which advanced me to 12 Feb 2015. They gave me the 365 + remaining 30). I then departed on 12 Feb 2015 due to illness.

I wont be returning until July. I think I was told I did not need to report while out of country. Upon returning, with permission to stay until 12 Feb 2016 I will be residing in Khon Kaen ( I have arrangements, address, etc) and I am assuming that I either I have a requirement to immediately report, or report in 90days since Immigration will have my new address upon entry, or? Thanks

Yes, I bought that same day I got the 1 yr extension of stay and converted into "for retirement". My initial visa was from DC for 90 days "to stay with spouse". Since I was 30 days early to req the extension they gave me 1yr+30days, i.e. 12 Feb 2016. So, I have never done 'just a 90 day report' due to other interactions with my IO and BKK Immigration upon departure. I will be in USA for almost 5 months, with a stamp that says re-entry until 12 Feb 2016 and length of stay until 12 Feb 2016.

You will need to file a TM28 change of address form to the Khon Ken immigration office so that you can do your 90 day reporting there. They may also want a TM30 form from your wife or landlord.

Your first 90 day report will be due 90 days from when you enter the country.
