It's better for curing leather. In Victorian times, street people used to collect and sell it.

Always thought it was urine, unless I'm thinking of something else.

Isn't that where Piss Poor expression came from as people would sell urine to the tannery, No pot to piss in meant really poor.

Dogs are omnivore but a large proportion of their wastes will be meat. Most civilised countries forbid its use, along with human and cat waste, because of the risk of the transfer of parasites. Unless you can find a magic formula for eliminating the eggs of worms and so on, I wouldn't bother. We have 8 dogs and it all stays out in the field when we go for walks.

Would only be used for garden plants in one corner of the garden, the furthest away one, don't grow anything to eat. The garden is also sprayed once a month by the local pest control Co so that should kill off any nasties etc.

Both.

Urine was also used as a bleach.

Good answer Cooked . I would not use it either unless it had gone though processing - perhaps composting or worm farm and even then i would be careful. Cat shit is the same. And it should never be used on food crops.
