Hungarian National Arrested in Phuket for Smuggling Dope

Kocsis Szabolcs Laszlo, a 41-year-old Hungarian national, was arrested in Phuket on March 15 for alleged dope smuggling. The man was presented to the press in Bangkok after his arrest.

The man was wanted by police for allegedly smuggling marijuana (35 kilos) from the Netherlands to Hungary seven times.

During the press event, the Immigration Commissioner stated that law enforcement had taken 11 foreign fugitives into custody on six different cases. One case included an alleged passport forger from Pakistan. The arrests also included a Finnish person wanted for tax evasion and fraud, and an individual from France who was wanted for online trade fraud.

Abdul Kanni, a Pakistani national who also goes by the name Babu Rafik, was arrested in the Bang Kho Laem district of Bangkok last week for the alleged forgery and sale of passports over the last 20 years.

Stephane Jacques Roulin, the French national, was brought into custody on March 25 after the French authorities requested his arrest. The man was wanted for allegedly scamming people through a luxury car scheme online.

Tuukka Tapio Rautajuuri, a Finnish national, was a tax evasion suspect who allegedly owed 15 million baht to the Finnish government.

An American and six South Korean men were also arrested for alleged assault and operating an online gambling website respectively.
