RAWAI: -- An unnamed Burmese woman remains in a coma after getting hit by a falling palm tree in Rawai while three others were also injured by a falling tree in Phang Nga on Monday afternoon (April 13).

The woman was hit by the falling tree near the Tesco Lotus in Rawai at about 4:50pm on Monday (April13) when there was heavy rain and wind. The tree hit two parked cars as well.

Tourist Assistance Centre in Chalong attended to the woman and helped transfer her to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

Also on Monday afternoon (April 13), three people were injured after a pine tree fell in Laem Pakarang Beach in Takuapa, Phang Nga. All three were taken to an area hospital.

According to Sirithorn Buakaew, Deputy Mayor of Kuek Kak Sub District Municipality, two pickup cars were also damaged by the pine tree. There was a heavy rain and windy during that time.
