BANGKOK: -- Five teenagers were arrested yesterday for the illegal possession of explosives, which accidentally went off and injured three on Tuesday.

"They have confessed," Metropolitan Police commander Pol Lt-General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul told the press yesterday.

The identity of the suspects will not be revealed because they are under-age at between 16 and 17 years old.

The three suspects are believed to have left their ping-pong bombs in a garbage bin in Bangkok's Bang Na district, which exploded on Tuesday morning when garbage collectors were sorting the trash. Three of the collectors were injured, one seriously.

The suspects, who were arrested right after the court approved the arrest warrants, have been handed over to Bang Na Police Station for further questioning.

"The victims are now in safe condition," Deputy Metropolitan Police chief Maj-General Nipon Charoenphon said.

So much for the 'red shirt' and other conspiracies. Far too many posters on both sides of the political divide jumping to conclusions.

So these faceless young thugs will be paying compensation to the 3 victims?

Not a bit of it. As far as the junta fans are concerned, everything is the fault of Thaksin and the red shirts even if it isn't and that's that. This news won't break their stride in the slightest.

Now wait a minute...let's not jump to conclusions...we haven't yet been told the color of their shirts. biggrin.png

exploitation of minors - another low to add to the red terrorist recruitment drive - starting to sound like ISIS, it seems older questionably wiser people have realised the risk reward isn't worth it so they are looking for kids to carry out their dirty deeds

This demented flapdoodle rather confirms my earlier point. Comparing teenage hijinks to ISIS... Jesus wept!
