Any idea where to get a small amount, say half a square meter ?

What do Thais call it ?

Do they have different hardness plastics here ?

Naclua road opposite SS sausage restoran,big shop with any kind construction materials.Have everything,not good speaking english(you need an thai speaking friend for explain what you want),not so cheap(I'm cut 2 sheet perspex 123cmx245cmx2mm on the few pices 3500baht )

Try a car audio shop - they use the stuff all the time....
