BANGKOK: -- Police last night arrested a young man for spraying anarchy symbols on the sign of the Criminal Court this past weekend.

A 22-year-old man who said he was angry at the pace of justice for a slain friend admitted to having painted the symbols, which were amusingly described by many media outlets as referring to comic book hero “Captain America.”

After his arrest, Nathapol Khemngern said he wanted to send a message about Thailand’s criminal justice system.

And the message was? Oh I got it I'm an Idiot so you better give justice to my friend. Reply and that being? Whom?

Thank the Lord!!

Crime of the century has been solved.......................coffee1.gif

Three years of free food and lodging should be the reward for the Captain!

"He said it was a demand for justice for a senior friend he said was shot dead by a soldier of the 11th Infantry Regiment while riding a motorcycle past Khlong Bang Bua canal in Bang Khen area on the night of Feb 8. No progress had been made in the investigation into his death, he said."

Given the complete lack (or comprehension) of "justice" here, I'm not surprised he was upset. In the big scheme of things, there's not been that many Police, Military, Officials, Politicians or rich people here that actually get punished much as we all know.

More details left unsaid? Why would a guy ride past an army base in the dead of the night? Area 51?

Former student arrested for spray painting “Anarchy” symbol at Criminal Court wall

BANGKOK: -- A 22-year-old former university student in Bangkok was arrested Monday night and accused of spray painting the concrete fence wall of the Criminal Court with the "Anarchy" symbol.

He was identified as Nattapol Khem-ngern. He was apprehended at a film shooting studio in Nonthaburi late last night.

Nattapol, a former student of a state university on Ratchadipisek road, confessed to the spray painting of the fence wall of the Criminal Court.

He said he was angry at the delay of the justice procedure regarding the prosecution of a soldier attached to the 11th Infantry Regiment of the Royal Guard for shooting his senior colleague dead in a quarrel after a motorcycle riding incident on February 8.

He claimed there was no progress in the investigation, thus prompting him to get angry with the justice system, and later decided to spray paint the symbol at the Criminal Court’s fence wall in black at two locations on Saturday morning.

Phaholyothin police initially charged him of damaging state property, and violation of city law regarding cleanliness.

However the police are also considering if the student is guilty of violation of the court’s jurisdiction or not, pending filing of complaints by the court.

A court spokesman said the court was considering of what real intention he had in spray painting the symbol at the fence wall before making conclusion he us guilty of violation of court’s jurisdiction.

Right message, wrong delivery system. Is THAT what they're teaching now in the Universities, "spray paint your way to jail 101?"

brave kid looking for his friend, even in death... if they toss him into prison for some very minor offense like graffiti then social media broadcasts it all over the world and questions start getting asked about his dead friend at the hands of the military.

i hate graffiti. 60 days community service and make him clean his graffiti up. next case.

and the next time you arrest this hot potato, kick him lose...

Should have do it in Singapore. That country saves national budget. No jail time, just the rottan. Daddy doesn't teach, the nation would.

Captain America wants to strap his shield over his bum.

Isn't he only stating the truth about the government being anarchist?

It's only where he chose to make his statement that is questionable.

Where he made his statement seems quite appropriate, unlike your post.

You seem to have a fondness for extreme right wing positions. How about the US government introduce the cane and public floggings for tax evasion? 3 lashes for late filngs, or failure to declare income of less than $1000. Would you be excited by such a law?

Did he get the punishment for throw away garbage 2000 Baht, like the fine for dropping litter?
After all, he has no one stabbed. Sometime the fine for stabbing is only 500 Baht.

8 years in jail for an 18 year old man, with no possibility of parole for tagging the neighbourhood

It is not slap on the wrist everywhereblink.png

Sounds like an idea that might actually work - well designed!

No, he wouldn't. If he were in Singapore, his friend's killer would already have been arrested and sentenced to death. Singapore is a country without a cast system like Thailand.
