Immigration office for Mahasarakham?

Featured Replies

Which immigration office do foreigners living in Marasarakham need to use?

About 90 km (city to city), not too bad.

And a not so "difficult" office.

I live in Khon Kaen just now but I was discussing the unenforced law about reporting an overnight stay in a different province today with friends.

So in theory if I stayed overnight at the inlaws (in Mahasarakham), I would have to inform Khon Kaen immigration then tell Khon Kaen again when I returned home?

What the immigration act and the TM28 form says is that you would report to the local police station in Mahasarakham if you were in another province for more than 24 hours. But there is a good chance the police would not know what the form was for,

Thanks ubonjoe.

So according to the immigration act should I still report back in when I come back to Khon Kaen?

I think though, that if you stay in a hotel, then the responsibility is passed onto the hotel? (They're meant to report any foreigners who stay)

Don't quote me on that, although in general the reporting isn't something which isn't enforced/required by immigration anyway (I don't think anyone actually informs immigration when they go on holiday or stay at a friend's etc).

Bet they"d know the fee (tea money) for accepting it though !

They would probably laugh at you and tell you to stop wasting their time.
