BANGKOK: -- Thai health officials have now placed six international airports in the country on high alert following the rising cases of the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in South Korea.

The Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) is now in close coordination with the Bureau of General Communicable Diseases to monitor passengers coming into the country’s international airports from the Middle East and South Korea and those with records of having travelled to the said countries during the past two weeks.

The six major international airports in the country comprised of Suvarnabhumi, Don Muang, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Hat Yai Airports.

Health officials have each set up temperature monitoring stations at these airports to monitor the possible entry of MERS-CoV disease among airline passengers.

At Suvarnabhumi airport health officials have installed three temperature sensitive cameras and have issued orders for any passengers with symptoms of extreme fatigue, high fever, severe coughing and hyper ventilating or out of breath to be immediately examined.

Anyone with very high fever will be quarantined in accordance with the Bureau of General Communicable Disease’s guidelines.

Are they again, going to place home video camera on a tripod aiming at incoming travelers,

while sitting bored behind a picnic table like they did before with all the other health alerts?

May look like a Video Ca, but was (and actually at Suvarnabhumi still is) a Infrared Camera having set a certain Threshold Temperature to give an alarm.

The equipment is correct, the question remains then if there are adequate procedures in place once the alarm is triggred.....

Again funny comments? But actually look very foolish

You are obviously not a native speaker, so perhaps you aren't comprehending some of the subtlety of the sarcasm.

Another option would be to check for sand in your vuhjayjay.

I'm not a native speaker but sick to read sarcastic ( if you know the meaning) comments from farang. Irony could be better

Its kind of ironic that you hate sarcastic farang, yet you frequent this forum.

Ramadan starts next week, hope they get setup with the screening before the influx of Arabs who go to LoS for their 'fasting'

Thailand is far more vulnerable than Korea, hence the level of concern. Far more Thais go to and from the region, far more visitors from the region to Thailand..Everyone has been caught short by the apparent ease of human to human transmission in the hopstital in Seoul.

Just a couple of weeks ago I was enroute to Thailand and had to make a change in Hong Kong...and sure enough, as we were in transit moving from our arriving gate and entering the airport area, we passed by a check point where there were heat sensitive cameras set up and pointed at arriving passengers...and officials were actually pulling over what they thought to be suspect sick passengers..

Fast food, fast girls (and boys), that's fasting in Little Arabia, conveniently situated right near Nana.

Could be the right location for you

Could you give us an idea of your opinion about the topic, rather than just sucking off others posts?

It might be interesting to also learn your species too, and what do you want from us?
