Liverpool line up stars for Bangkok game

BANGKOK: -- Premier League club Liverpool have announced a glittering list of big-name players for the "True Super Trophy" exhibition match in Bangkok next month, the first game of the Merseysiders' pre-season fixtures.

Although long-serving Reds captain Steven Gerrard has departed to play for LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer, Thai fans can expect to see plenty of familiar names for the July 14 fixture at Rajamangala National Stadium.

England international quartet Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Adam Lallana, Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho as well as maverick striker Mario Balotelli have all been included in Liverpool's travelling party for the club's sixth visit to the country.

Fans will also have a chance to watch James Milner and Danny Ings, two newcomers among a slew of summer signings following a disappointing campaign last term, when the Reds finished sixth in the Premier League.

The English duo, who joined the 18-time English champions on free transfers, are set to make their first appearances in the Reds colours in Bangkok before Liverpool play a pair of friendly matches in Australia, then Malaysia before rounding off their preseason programme at HJK Helsinki in Finland.

Tickets from Bt500 to Bt5,000 are available in 7-Eleven stores and at allticketthailand.com.

15,000 baht for a decent seat ....bit rich for an exhibition game.

what do you mean by a decent seat sparkles? i mean that's three hundred quid.

Probably just me but I read tickets cost between 500 and 5,000 Baht.

I'd say the tickets are pretty overpriced this time around and probably why they need promotion pieces like this one. More expensive than for Chelsea and well over the price last time Liverpool were here. I guess it's because they're using this new(?) ticket agency.
