well folks,

it seems that we (anon and i) will be in korat in november (searching for tickets tomorrow) to get married;

we are in this area , if there is anyone close by (by muubaan transportation methods (sister's car if there is a driver)... there was the guy with the goats, and someone else? (sorry i forgot your name)

i think we will be three weeks: one week +- for the marriage stuff in bangkok and the rest of the time with family and one or two small trips. anon has big plans, i am realistic and know that i will be tired, and i hate site seeing, i prefer to watch cows all day....

his area:

baankhoksoong

tambon sra ta kien

amphur soengsaang

hows the weather? mosquitos? we are apparently close to some dam/lake

will have no interenet access/or cell phone access (maybe his mom's cell phone)

will be more specific soon...

Hi Bina, you wrote in your address "amphur soengsaang" is it possible it should be Soeng Sang

เสิงสาง ? . can you ask Anon to check spelling in Thai ta, if correct I think you are on the border of Burriam.

So we might see you at the F.C. soetime then. You'll be within 100km's. Unless of course you give us the "Lo hayon, uli machar" bit. (can't write it in Hebrew script) :o

farang connection, didnt know u spoke hebrew????

yes on the buriram border....

13 หมู่ที่ 3 บ้านโคกสูง

ตำบล สระตระเคียน

อำเภอ เสิงสาง

จังหวั นครราชสีมา

30330

i actually dont know how much travelling we will do since this is the first time he's been home in four years, and we have to do his i.d. card again, and the police report thingy (for when applying for visa here in israel)and then to khungthep for the embassy/mfa thingy... so will visit the King's palace and the wat there and then home (we hate cities) to amphur for marriage thing; he wants to go to some wat in buriram border , a famous one cant remember what he called it....

and i think htat little sister is 'renting' us the new pickup w/BIL as driver; and maybe staying in 'farang' house (aunt is married to, u guessed it, a rich farang, and they are in farangland at the moment) so anon wants us to rent it for the month so i can bake banana bread (no kidding, do they have normal wheat flour in korat? i dont htink i can bring white powders with me on the plane -- air jordan or somehting or other)

really wanted to see shingdam (the guy with the goats), and the american from ohio(?) in korat city....

so, what about dengue fever in november?

whats the weather like, korat/buriram?

FC, are u difficult to get to if i explain to a thai (his reading of road maps is nil)?

Phanom Rung, Muang Than & Tam just checked your web site, i think this is the place he was talking about ( a giant wat with stone carvings etc?)....

Yes, but my Hebrew is a little limited now.............................................manishma, marshlam ha, marshlam ek, peseta, lo tov, bogatov, .......you know the every day words. Long time since I worked in Israel. I thought you knew I spoke a little Hebrew. I'm the same person as Lampard 10.

The FC is easy to find once you get to Surin. It's in the bus-station. If you are having a stop over in Surin, then the next stop must be Khoaw Pra Viharn. Nice little guest house/resort to stay in there as well. Check out Suan Loong Daeng on the links page and Hotels page of my web-site. Denque fever hit Surin about 6 weeks ago, but it's cleared up for now. No new cases for a long while. Maybe see you when you get here.

If i am correct in thinking you will be close to a lake that you mentioned it is seong sang and the lake there is stunning its a national park there we went last weekend and took a boat trip across the lake to the edge of the jungle and walked up the river to some rapids...well worth the visit....if you like watching cows the you will love it there.

Enjoy you stay...

good luck bina!

Let us all know when you might be in Bkk, I'll be arriving there the 12th of Nov, so if you are there at the same time and have some free time we should try to meet up.

As for the flour, I am sure Korat has flour, don't worry about that, it is quite a big city really. November is probably pretty good weather, my understanding is that the rainy season is over and the cool season already started. Might want to bring a sweater. :o

great sbk; that would be fun, but knowing that dealing with country thai folks, i cant imagine that anything will work according to a tight organized schedule..... :D also, if u say sweater, it probably means i need a few long sleeve shirts and jacket, i'm always cold...

FC , so you are the schizophrenic lamp....:o gotcha...so like, how many hours by thai pickup is it to you from anon's area? do u have stuff in thai somehwere on the site that i missed?? or recommended sites in thai for thai tourists, for his(our) area?

g&d, yes he is very close to the natl park, thats one of the things we first talked about when we met...including the amount of mosquitoes......

getting definately excited about all this.....now, just thinking about affordable presents for in laws (we are also 'kon jon') so i think that i will give gifts thai style: scented body lotions/soaps; bottle of decent lao kao, baby toys for anon's nephews; plus the usual amounts of school pens/funny erasers/colour markers, stickers and hair thingys for all the relatives' kids/hangers on et al.... and a few t shirts of various sorts just in case... i think his mom wants a real present in the form of a bouncing baby....... my mom, on the other hand, has warned me to 'break the egg' (the one they put in your hand when getting married thai style).... ooops... drifted in to the ladies forum style musings... bye bye for now....
