It is extremely difficult to believe that this proposal would come from anyone who has even the most basic knowledge of internet security.

Unless it is a direct veiled threat to producers of encryption software to provide to the UK services a backdoor into their software? I don't even think this is possible anyway.

I wonder if his encryption ban would apply to governments too? Seems Cameron has not really thought this through.
