New Ong using for drinking water

Featured Replies

Just put in a couple of new cement Ongs. Mrs reckons you need to fill up and wait 1 year and drain and refill before drinking. Old man delivered Ong reckons a bottle of Lao Kao and remove any flotsam off the top and can use straight away? Anyone know what to do?

By the way, does anyone treat their Ong water? I think I read somewhere a teaspoon of Chlorine once a month. I remember when I first come her we were drinking from an Ong from the house next door....Missus Grandmothers home no one lived there for 5 years. I didn't know at the time but the same water, jar covered without anyway of getting fresh in from the roof must have been sitting there for at least 2 or 3 years. Clear as a bell and fresh as. We drunk it for 3 months before she told me it had been sitting there without replenishment for years. Never got crook
