PDRC Foundation’s first mission outlined

BANGKOK: -- The PDRC Foundation’s first mission is to encourage members of the public to join the foundation, to protect the interest of the country and the people and to push for reforms, said the foundation’s secretary Mr Aekkanat Promphan.

He complained that the proposed reforms had been distorted to the point that it has caused public confusion that reforms will affect roadmap resulting to the delay of an election.

He insisted that the PDRC Foundation had wanted all stakeholders to finish their homework on reforms and had them submitted within the timeframe. The foundation’s push for reforms have nothing to do with the roadmap and election, he said.

Aekkanat maintained that reforms would benefit all stakeholders, including political parties and all mass groupings. He outlined the reforms which need to be undertaken such as reform to prevent corruption, decentralistion reform to allow greater public participation in local administration, police reform, social reform to eradicate social disparity and political reform to rid politics of vote buying.

The PDRC Foundation has no grudges with the Democrat party but merely wants to separate from the party in order to pursue its own objectives,,, said Aekkanat, adding the foundation has no conflict with the Pheu Thai party if the party does not try to introduce amnesty law to exonerate corrupt politicians.

Nor does the foundation hold any grudges against the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship if the red-shirt movement does not get involved in anti-Monarchy activities or in violence, said Aekkanat.

So after a year 'break' Suthep is basically getting his unelected council of 'good people' then?

This will benefit certain sections of Thai society. And we all know it won't benefit the most vulnerable.

If the Junta want to be seen as fair and open to all sides these guys need to get an attitude adjustment.

To include being wired up to the mains

Ahem, well, ok now, kudos go to Mr. Aekkanat who is the foundation's specialist in clearing things up.

Every single conflict in the history of humanity has been the result of one person telling others what they should do and/or how they should do it. And insisting on it, at the point of a gun not at the point of a reasoned argument.

That's what's happening right now with this lot. They're all arguably guilty of sedition and possibly treason or worse, yet here they are., large as life and with no obvious shame about what they are doing.

A good question to ask is 'who told Suthep that his time for a 2nd bite at the cherry by supporting a collapsing junta had come '?

If Thai people believe and follow this group, (which no doubt many will), then there is no hope for the country.

Is this group going to try and keep the NRC in line?.......an elitist con again!
