His Majesty's hydrocephalus condition improves
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- His Majesty the King's hydrocephalus condition and chest inflammation have improved, the Royal Household Bureau announced Monday night.

In its 14th announcement concerning His Majesty stay at the Siriraj Hospital, the bureau said that after the team of Siriraj doctors invited His Majesty to receive an extensive medical checkup, the doctors found the hydrocephalus condition.

The doctors have been providing treatment to the condition and the re-checkup in July found that the condition has improved.

During the stay in the hospital, His Majesty had high fever occasionally and had a lot of phlegm and had fast heart beat. The doctors believed the conditions were caused by the inflammation in the lungs earlier.

As a result, the doctors provided physical therapy for the chest to help His Majesty get rid off the phlegm. The doctors also provided medicine for dissolving the phlegm and gave him oxygen occasionally.

The doctors later performed an x-ray and computer scan on the chest as well as the intracardiac electrical check and found that His Majesty’s heart beat has returned to normal level and the chest inflammation has gone.

The brain scan on August found that the water level in the brain has returned to the normal level, the bureau added.

Rayong holds beach conservation campaign

RAYONG, 11 August 2015 (NNT) – Rayong Province and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) have joined hands to hold a beach conservation campaign, in celebration of the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday.

Rayong Province and the DMCR held the beach cleaning and returning marine animal to the sea activity today, at Mae Ramphueng Beach. About 1,000 people from the government agencies, private agencies, tourism entrepreneurs, students, and the general public participated in this activity.

The Governor of Rayong, Somsak Suwansujarit, said that this activity reflects the unity of the people by demonstrating their loyalty to Her Majesty the Queen, in their mutual effort to help preserve marine and coastal resources.

Other than collecting garbage from both the beach and the sea, the activities in this event also included coral transplantation, and the release of 40 sea turtles and 1 million fish back to their natural habitat.

Sea turtles are among the rare endangered marine animals. The global community is now aware of the declining number of sea turtles which may lead to their extinction in the near future, due to threats such as turtle egg harvesting, construction projects in the beach area, the destruction of the turtle’s natural habitat and food source, natural disasters and climate change.
