No...but if you flew to KL for a day and came back. you wouldn't have to report for 90 more days....mail it in....online system is pathetic.

The only place you can file a 90 day report in person in Chiang Mai province is at Immigration Promenada. But, Bangmai is right. Just go to the airport and book an international trip to where ever you fancy. Be sure you have a re-entry permit in your passport. You can purchase one right after the security screening point the international boarding area, just before the passport check.

Or you could mail-in your 90 day report. 15 - 7 days before it's due, although some report pushing the deadline a bit. No need to mail in your passport. Great instructions from Tywais here. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/557382-90-day-report-procedures/

Yes, standard Catch-22...online must be within 15 days of required report. Mail-in must be done more than 15 days...online doesn't work, then it's too late to mail. According to their rules. However, we do have many reports that people are mailing after the 15 day deadline.

You could also go to Maesai and cross into Myanmar for a few minutes. Buy some cheap hookers and booze.....pretty decent chance one of them wouldn't be a "fake."

The official rules for doing mail in 90 day reports says to send your report at least 15 days before your due date, but it seems that Chiang Mai Immigration accepts your report as long as it arrives at their office before the due date.

So an alternative recommendation to doing a 90 day report is now to spend a few thousand baht on international flights ,hotels and the cost of a re-entry permit.

Makes the THB 500 90 day report agency next door to immigration at Promenada the deal of the century?

I have never mailed my 90 day more than a week before its due date. And they give you 90 days from the date that they process it, so send it in 15 days before and you actually get 75 days!

I usually send mine so it arrives 3-4 days before it's due. Never a problem in several years now. If you are the worrying type then send it sooner. Use Registered post (rong tabien) and not EMS. Ems could take 4-5 days to get there and it's more expensive.

Even 75 days is better than the mess you have to go through in the new "One Stop Service" setup at Promenada. I hear the 90 days renewal now is almost as bad as the annual visa extension. Again I am amazed that we are not getting much feedback from people going to the new location. Suffering in silence I guess.

I use EMS...each time it's arrived at Immigration Office the next day. When Immigration sends it back to me, pre-paid EMS, it's also only taken one day.

I used the common return, with 3 baht stamp. All gud. Sent to them via EMS, all gud.

One question does nag at me and that is 'what happens if paperwork sent to Immig via post is incorrect or mistaken in some way'? What does Immig do then? I don't think they are equipped to deal with offering advice or corrections on paper, in a small envelope.

i also send mine in less than a week before it's due. never had a problem.

yes, don't use EMS as it goes to Lamphun first and takes much longer. the wife just had a situation recently where she sent a package to C.R. by EMS and it took 7 days to get there and the P.O. asked her "why didn't you use long tabien?" long tabien is much more reliable and if there is a problem the P.O. is much more helpful. EMS is good if you send something to Bangkok for example that has a value of 2K or more or International 7K Bath and need the insurance.

also Thai Post will not give EMS stickers; only long tabien stickers (upon presentation of your original passport and signing a document). they will give you enough for 18 months or more of 90-day reports; both ways. so you never have to leave your home to file.

Makes the THB 500 90 day report agency next door to immigration at Promenada the deal of the century?

The "deal of the Century" for me was using OS Thai Visa Service on Nimman Soi 9. I was very leery of using an "agent", and have done all of my annual retirement extensions and 90 reports in person, up until now. For only 7000 baht, which INCLUDES the price of the retirement visa (1900 baht) they take care of everything, including all 90 day reports for the next year. I admit, I was always disdainful of posters who raved about the various agents around town, but this was the smartest move I have made in years.

I gathered the required documents and took them to their office. They checked them for completeness. On the day of the appointment they took me to Promenada for the required onsite photo. It was my first trip there. As always, at 1:30 there were a lot of people waiting, but my agent walked me in and out. We were only there 15 minutes. I was careful not to make eye contact with any of the patiently waiting people, as I felt almost guilty.

I don't know if it is permissible to praise any particular agency on here, but I am so glad I finally did this. It completely relieved me of what has always been a high stress situation.

I was only relating the THB500 ( which is a complete rip off) to spending x thousand THB to fly international which is also a nonsense suggestion instead of completing a 90 day report by online,if available, or by mail which is definitely available.

The use of an agent to do what I have done personally for many years relatively stress free is highly unlikely and better things to do with the money.

But, simply my choice.

I'll politely disagree. Many of us enjoy leisure travel while living here and if you simply time your next trip to coincide with the 90 day reporting window then it's not nonsense at all.
