Can solar really enable a place to go off grid? The info on this site seems to have plenty of doubts. Anyone out there achieved this?

If you list your Villas power requirements and the amount of potential surface area available (east, south, west facing roof space, open land space) that can potentially be covered with panels and passive collectors then a discussion can determine options and costs.

Just a thought.... maybe have the transformer on your land and some sort of covenent that remaining plots need to chip-in on cost for connection.
