The question confuses me.

It's very simple. "Which David Silva has been the best player in the English leagues over the past 5 seasons?".

thats an easy answer. Luis Suarez.

No, he definitely won't be happy with that! And in fairness, Silva's a lot more than very good.

Silva's a world class player, outstanding in every way and seems like a model pro. He just gets on with it brilliantly, with little fuss.

However, he comes across a quiet unassuming character that doesn't lend itself necessarily to being a headline grabber. Beardsley springs to mind here for me. One of the finest players England has produced but not a headline grabber, a pin up player

I'm not saying Silva's a mong either, theres no drawing of comparisons looks wise. wink.png

Silva's a world class player, outstanding in every way and seems like a model pro. He just gets on with it brilliantly, with little fuss.

it's still suarez. he's the best player to have played in the premier league, give or take thierry henry. but david silva is lovely to watch. cracking player. has bredbury got some kind of bet on this or something?

Disagree there....Giggs at his best and the likes of Zola...others in the 90's......ratboy for a couple of seasons....Saurez is not the best ever seen in the Premiership really.

Gerrard winning the CL...?

I agree with BB that Silva likely doesn't get as much ink as he earns. Not just in England but in Spain as well. He was overshadowed for years in Spain by Xavi and Iniesta. It didn't help that he played for Valencia rather than Real Madrid or Barca. He'd also get more acclaim in England if he played for Man United. Not that any of that means diddly squat.

Wonderful player and City would be shit out of luck without him.

suarez is the best footballer that i've ever seen play in england mate. he just is. won games on his own and was so, so much better than everyone else on the pitch. zola was very good, giggs was great, but they didn't just own games like suarez did. and this isn't anything to do with liverpool otherwise i'd say gerrard etc. suarez is up there with messi and ronaldo these days, he's that good. henry is the only one i'd put in the same bracket in the premier league era. though bergkamp was pretty alright too like. who is ratboy by the way?

Bale didn't drag your team to within a cock's stride of winning the league, your team wasn't dramatically improved, points or position wise. He didn't have the impact Suarez did. Suarez has an ability that I've not seen before, Bale is a fantastic player, but Suarez is a yard in front.

For the time span of his career in the premier league it has to be Henry but in that title challenging season Suarez was like a force of nature and just seemed to get the whole side by the scruff of the neck and raise them all to a higher level.

Henry was just majestic in every way and a supreme athlete and the perfect temperament.

The best footballer to have played in the premier league is Paul Scholes.

Silva is a very good footballer but does go missing in some games and is proving to be very injury prone now.

Suarez was the type of player everybody would want in your team but the same as most genius's (Cantona) comes with baggage.
