Someone own a HP Pavilion 15-ab2xxTX

Featured Replies

I am thinking of which laptop I should buy and the HP Pavilion 15-ab207TX and similar looked just perfect.

Than I saw LAN 10/100 on the webpage. Can that be true? Even my very very old Acer had 10/100/1000 with the correct drivers (but also only advertised as 10/100).

Anyone has such a machine and can confirm/deny? It might be just a typo on their webpage.

It would be the perfect computer for my needs, so it would be a pity if I can't buy it because lack of good LAN.

What are you doing on a lappie that needs gigabit LAN?

If the rest of the spec. suits and you like the look and feel, go for it.

For example copy over the company files before I travel (maybe 20-25GB....never thought how much the time difference is between 100 and 1000).

Actually when in the office or weekend house everything company related is on the LAN only.

100 Mbit is so outdated I can't even remember when had it last time beside on the printers.

Edit: I can't find any of these models at amazon.com or amazon.de

Either the have country specific numbers or are country specific models.......that calls for driver problems in 5 years....I think HP wasn't such a good idea.....

Sounds reasonable smile.png

All my company stuff rides on the lappie 24/7/365 backed up every evening when I get home. And yes, even my ancient Dell has gigabit.

EDIT I think you're right in it being an Asia special, I found it on Snapdeals (an Indian outlet) but they say it's only 10/100 too :(

I think it is a bad idea to buy an Asia special. Once with such a device I had big headache with the drivers......a thing that is sold million of times in countries with problematic customer like USA and Germany will be better supported.....

Maybe I can get the old one run with WinXP again and let it life till after Christmas crazy.gif

Invadeit told me when upgrading RAM or HD you have to cut the warranty seal on most Laptops now. So they don't do it anymore facepalm.gif
