Finally got around to fixing the tile cutter.

Took me a whole 10 minutes, cable is now about 8" shorter.

My only issue was the whole "don't admit guilt" thing, like I said in my OP, these things happen.

The "help" now (allegedly) understands, but I'll lay odds that the next time something gets damaged we will be in the same situation.

My biggest problem with my tools is my wife and my oldest son. My wife grabs things and just leaves them wherever she was using them (saws in the backyard boonies and rubber mallets and tape measures all over the island.) My son grabs them and losses them in the general mess in his room.
