After reading the very vague METV announcement from Hanoi, I sent them a mail and they too are closing doors

TOURIST/TRANSIT VISA INSTRUCTION
Thủ tục xin visa Du Lịch/ Transit
This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to
enter the Kingdom for tourism/ transit purposes ONLY.
Employment is strictly prohibited.
2. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
- Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6
- 1 Visa application form completely filled out
- 2 Recent( 4 x 6 cm.) photograph of the applicant
- Evidence of travel into/out of Thailand (air ticket paid in
full). If applicant wish to apply for a Double/Triple entries visa,
please show travel evidence into/out of for two/three times.
- Work Permit/ Residence Card (if applicable)
- Letter from guarantee company in Vietnam address to the
Embassy indicating the applicant’s position, schedule of travel
2.1 For 3 Months Single Entry: Show evidence of adequate
finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family)
2.2 For 6 Months Multiple Entries:
- Applicant must have permanent residence or residence
permit and/or work permit in Vietnam.
- Show evidence of adequate finance 200,000 Baht per
person deposited in the bank in at least previous 6 months.
- Letter of guarantee from applicant’s employer/ company/
organization in Vietnam, Copy of Labor Contract (if any)
Tourist 3 Months Single Entry: 40 USD.
Tourist 6 Months Multiple Entries: 200 USD.
Transit 3 Months: 35 USD per entry.
Fee to be paid by cash in US dollars only
(Visa fee may be changed without prior notice)

It appears, according to their reply, that they have kept the double/triple entry option, first one i have seen do it................rolleyes.gif

3 months transit would seem to be more of what I would call a visit :)

This email is from this morning, I emailed them back to ask about 2&3 entries.

Will keep you posted when I get the answer.

2 and 3 Entry visas have been removed completely worldwide according to the TAT announcement two weeks ago at the Travel mart in London. Only Single and Multiply Entries are available. A single entry tourist visa can be applied at any Thai embassy or consulate worldwide but for the METV only at the home country.

Good luck with that when you get to a Thai airport.Maybe can't even get on the plane in Vietnam.

The METV is available to citizens and if you hold residency certificates/papers of that particular country.

That appears to be standard throughout.
