NNT News

UBON RATCHATHANI, 8 January 2016 (NNT) –- The Armed Forces Development Command has delivered the finalized drought mitigation projects to the public of Ubon Ratchathani, aiming to improve the livelihood of the local public.

The Commander of the 56th Mobile Armed Forces Development Unit Col Koson Kijkultanan has handed over the finalized projects, designed to relieve effects from the drought, as a New Year's gift to the public of Dom Pradit Subdistrict in Ubon Ratchathani.

The projects include the consumption water allocation plan, and the construction project of a water softener facility with a production capacity of 250 liters per hour, along with the excavation of water sources projects.

These projects have been carried out as a relief to the drought situation in the area, allowing the local public to have better livelihood. Benefits from the projects are a gift to the public, in line with the government's and the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters’ directive, according the development unit commander.

"projects, designed to relieve effects from the drought, as a New Year's gift to the public"

Projects funded by the military whose budget is paid by Thai taxpayers - hardly a gift.

And considering that military expenditures are not open to public scrutiny, who knows what the real cost is for these projects?

These are good projects--the situation is becoming desperate here.

Well done, and damn the details
