any recommendations for hotel in kanchanaburi .......30usd...... with near by bar/restaurants.......

Bluestar guesthouse,quiet,clean and under a thousand baht.Close to restaurants and bars.I have stayed there a few times,last time was two months ago.

Noblenights guest house and the Ploy guesthouse

As above, Noble Night and Ploy. Would also add Sky Resort. Sister in law and husband stayed there a fortnight last month and were very happy.

Sugar Cane Guesthouse 1 . Rooms on the river, cheaper than your budget, 50 meter walk up to the main road where there are a few bars.

P.S. and reason for edit: Also the Thai food in the restaurant there is good.
