HUA HIN:-- Police brought a music festival to an abrupt end on Friday night after several fights broke out in the crowd.

Police and military personnel were forced to step in at Chang Music Connection event held at Hua Hin’s Centennial Park.

The event which was playing host to a number of popular Thai bands including Modern Dog, Paradox, Bigass and Dome Pakorn and was attended by 12,000 people, mainly Thai teenagers.

However, police closed the event just over an hour into the show after large groups of youths started fighting.

A number of people were arrested and 10 people required hospital treatment following the melee, which at its peak was said to involve approximately 30 people.

Some of those in attendance took to social media to express their disappointment at not being able to see their favourite bands perform due to the actions of a small minority of the crowd.

Prayut and his boys sure have a lot of happiness spreading around.

+Shirtless, with respect, this ain't about Prayuth or politics at all. I guess you don't have experience with crowd control or safety, but 30 people going off in a crowd of 12,000 risks stampeding through fear and subsequent collateral death and injury, and it can happen in a heartbeat. Shutting it down was the only safe resolution to the problem. Best to save your political ammo for something worthwhile.

Army need to re-educate these uneducated

Perhaps the army simply needs to enlist them all.
