Controlling Facebook

Featured Replies

I have FB on both my phone and laptop. Every time I get a message, a notification pops up on my laptop screen. I'ts pretty convenient.

Problem for me is I will have guests for a week with a teenager who will certainly want to use my laptop. I don't want her to see my FB account content or any message pop-ups that come along while she is on the machine.

I suppose I could just set up a separate user account for guests to log onto.. (Windows 8.1, Classic Shell) Would that be a safe way to go about it? Would that close out notification pop-ups?

You could always log out of facebook and remove any stored password in the browser / app that you use.

A guest account seems to be the way to go.

As for FB notifications, you can turn those off in settings on any device.
