The reporting here seems to be part of our annual visa renewal process. My wife filled out the form and there has been no problem. If you go on a road trip and stay in a hotel they are required to take a copy of your passport for their report.

"I was in the Immigration office located in Chiang Rai today and asked when my wife who is owner of our house has to submit a TM30. They informed us that only when I as a non Thai returned from overseas travel or we change residence. I asked the question what if I travel to Bangkok for 7 days does she have to submit a TM30. The answer was an emphatic no."
