Advice. Transfer from Thai bank to UK bank

Featured Replies

I need to transfer money from my Thai bank account in my name to a UK bank account, also in my name. I have a work permit and passport here in Thailand.

It is over a million baht.

Is there a limit to how much I can send in one go?

What is the best way to go about it?

There is no rush for it to get there - i just want the easiest and most cost effective way.

I do actually have a couple of different Thai bank accounts and also a couple of different UK accounts if that makes it any easier.

I have easily transferred money before with no issues but it was always around 100k Thai baht.

All help appreciated in advance.

I just repatriated to the UK money from a condo sale through kasikornbank. I was told that any one transaction cannot exceed $50,000US without a high degree of scrutiny ie don't bother. However I was also told that multiple transfers up to that limit were permissible.

I have now dealt with this matter.

I made the transfer from my KrungThai online account.

The chardge is 1,500 baht per transaction.

There appears to be no limit to how much can be transferred in one time and the bank were happy to raise my daily transfer rate to 5 million baht. No questions.

It couldnt have been easier - I did it from home!

I asked you in another thread on this subject, do you have a work permit?

Thanks, sorry I didn't notice that. But that answers the question, the OP has a work permit hence it's far easier to transfer funds out as a result, the rst of us need to produce FET's.
