1, Is the HDMI cable plugged in all the way? Seriously. Check and make sure it is snug on the laptop and on the tv.

2. Check the Video/HDMI/PC/TV button on your remote.....make sure it is HDMI. Mine has two HDMI..so I have to select the correct one.

3. Are you running 3rd party multi monitor applications....such as display fusion? try one.

4. I guess you are on windows 7. Make sure you are not on Windows 7 STARTER....which may limit you to one monitor.

5. No shorts on the connections?

Out of all the above..my guess is that you are running windows 7 STARTER.... that won't work.

Have you used your tv remote to select the correct HDMI source .

For example if your HDMI cable is connected to HDMI 1 on your tv, then select that on your remote.

I hope this might help.

Are you on Windows 10 on the notebook? I have big issues getting an HDMI connection with various TVs HDMI inputs to work. Since my upgrade to Win 10 on a desktop PC the HDMI connect to a new Toshiba TV will not connect. Using a PC with Win 7 works ok . This has been very frustrating to find a solution
