April 6, 20169 yr All calm and cooler now but no rain. It does look like the fires in the hills have blown up. Last night it looked like a volcano so I suspect tonight will be even more impressive.

April 9, 20169 yr Dark skies and thunder over town at the moment. Hoping for a deluge! We can hear it and see the dark sky in the direction of town. We too are hoping some of it comes our way, out here to the East.

April 10, 20169 yr There are reports on FaceBook of some fair sized hail at some locations around Chiang Rai. We didn't get any rain and the wind wasn't nearly as strong as the other day.
April 19, 20169 yr We just got hit by two rounds of hail. The first wave was pea sized and then after a break the grape size hail came. Fun to watch it bouncing around in the front yard. It reminded me of popcorn.

May 12, 20169 yr Just dragged one of my fish ponds for dead fish. They almost made it to the rains. This year's fish growing season is over before it got started. In two or three more weeks the whole 40 km Mae Suai valley is likely to be out of water, as the river is a shadow of it's former self. That's a lot of people without any water. Possible T-storm tomorrow though.
