Urban riders,

Found this California-biker-tips vid which advocated riding the rear brake while lane-splitting.

To increase 'low'-speed control & allow quicker braking.

papa tested.

Smoother power response; acceleration/decel.

Not exactly a new technique, dragging the rear has been taught in UK for a long time. As you say, much smoother control and the bike doesn't dive unlike when using the front brake.

You'll find it handy on wet roads, may prevent the rear from being locked in a panic moment. Plus riding fast on a soft surface through tightly placed trees, doesn't hurt either, but that's a bit of backing in.....

My Harley has ABS braking great stuff no lock ups in either wet or dry condition in emergency situations, but I ride to the weather conditions, and I'm the other side of 56yrs.
