Stand by for Sacha Baron Cohen's next movie project where he plays another of his tv characters, gay Austrian fashion reporter, Bruno.

Universal Pictures paid around $40,000,000 for the movie rights.

Borat isn't listed on movieseer.com so far :o

Can't see how they're going to trick people with Bruno the same way they did with Borat when they go making announcements like that...

AFAIK this film is just being released in the U.S.A. today (3 November 2006). So that measn it could show up here in the theatres anytime over the six months. It could show up at Apex (Lido, Scala Siam) or House/RCA, all of which are listed at MovieSeer.

I see SBC is back for Madagascar 2; he was OK in Talladega Nights.

i ' ve just seen borat in europe at the moment and well , .. it is pretty insulting for ....

but it is great , from beginning till end full of laughter , absolutely crazy , great acting and combination as a documentary ( not everything is set up for the movie but as a serious doc )

and then the kazak accent ofcourse

a spontaneous applaus at the end from a fully crowded movietheater says enough

( in russia already forbidden , i wonder why )

Sacha Baron Cohen is sharp but does not generally make me laugh. Humour is subjective ?

I will however be looking forward to his turning up at the Ladyboy Pageant in Pattaya.

No doubt he will upset all in sundry with his gay Austrian fashion reporter, Bruno.

What would add a nice touch to the proceedings would be the arrival of that other Teutonic

fashion icon Karl Lager-lout with his fan to cool down his ardour.

:D:D I saw this film over the weekend, it is very funny

Its irony is his take on anti-semitism - while SBC is himself Jewish.

Most memorable scene is Borat and his travelling companion fighting in their hotel bedroom ...NAKED :D its is so WRONG but so funny as well. Will stay ingrained on my memory for a long time :o

Well worth watching, the US expats will enjoy as well I think for the various regional portrayal of Americans featured in it. (Brash, no-nonsense New Yorkers, Middle Class White Prudes from Alabama, Outrageous LA folk, stereo-typical Frat types)

Borats ability to unveil the bigotry, misogynism, racism from his victims is very clever, the ones who find it offensive need to keep it within context. Saying that I can understand some objections as it does sail close to the wind in parts, exp the cruelty to animals bits. Overall well worth the cinema fee - go see :D

I still didn't find a cinema in Bangkok showing Borat. Really would like to see on the big screen, not on CD at home.

Anyone already watched it somewhere in Bkk? Movieseer.com still doesn't list the movie... Maybe the publisher didn't see a market in LOS?

It just came out in english in France, and I saw it last night...

Still 24 hours on I'm laughing my ass off! Hilarious!!

<deleted>!

I don't know where did you get this information - it's in the theaters in Moscow right now.

Great movie, I saw anoncement, he's a bad.... I think it's a masterpiece of brit wit, sarcasm and satire. Just great! Go to china town, Pantip, Fortune, Silom - get your copy right now. Goes fine with beer and another english speaking fella.

Attention! Do not try to explain jokes to your thai GF/BF/LBFM !

I support the US and A war of terror..........

I like the TV show, but I didn't like the movie - I thought that it just seemed contrived. I had the same feeling watching it as I did with the Ali G movie.

this movie was so freaking funny, in spite of how horribly offensive it was to just about everyone. especially americans should get the humor in it, i am not sure yet how my european friends will find it. it was good to close out 2006 with gales of laughter last night. :o

wow that has some pretty racist undertones in it if you ask me, columbo. (your response, that is)

I needed 5 puke buckets to get thru this movie for 2 reasons

make that 3 reasons.

the third being that your inadequacies , anger , racist hate and obvious jealousy at mr. cohens worldwide success are causing you acute anxiety bringing on nausea.

i should add that your posts are causing nausea in others too.

I have deleted several posts in this thread. Apologies to those who did nothing wrong.

Hopefully this is the last we will hear from our outspoken friend.
