Hi new member been here since January 29. I was unaware I needed a 90 day report. Is this true for all visas. I have a marriage visa for one year. Must I file online and if so how, in order to avoid

a fine. I was in a wheel chair when arriving so asked no questions. Thanks

Everybody has to report to Immigration when staying over 90 days.

The fine is usually 2,000 Baht.

You can try online but it probably wont work.

You can report by post.

You can turn up in person.

If you have a VISA based on marriage( obtained from a Thai Embassy/Consulate) you have to leave the country every 90 days.

90 day reports are not required

I have a marriage visa issued in Chicago for one year. I am totally confused. Due to the lateness must I report to Immigration in person and does it take yoo long.

You apparently have a multiple entry non-o visa that only allows a 90 day entry. You have to leave the country every 90 days to get a new entry.

If you have already stayed longer than 90 days you are now on an overstay.

You most likely have a 12 month multiple entry "O" visa which requires you to leave the country every 90 days.

You need to urgently check the "admitted until " date which was stamped in your passport when you arrived.

(I suspect the stamp gave you a 90 day stay and not 12 months)

If I am correct you must arrange to enter another country and return to be given another 90 day stamp.

Hi new member been here since January 29.

Been here: date of entry to Thailand?

If the assumptions about your visa match, then you should have a stamp in the passport:

ADMITTED UNTIL

27 APR 2016

So you have to do a border run until this date to get another 90 days.

It actually gives you 15 months if you leave on the correct day. The visa is for 365 days, and you leave on day 360th day, you get another 90 days at that point.

If it's a one year multi-entry visa, the visa is valid for one year from the date it was issued in Chicago, not from the date you first entered Thailand.

You would need to leave Thailand at least every 90 days. When you arrived at the airport, immigrations would have stamped your passport showing the date by which you must leave. Each time the you exit and return, you would be given a new 90 day permission to stay in Thailand. You can do one last exit and return just before the visa expires, which would give you one final 90 day permission to stay.

You need to check two dates, the expiry date on the visa you got in Chicago and the "must leave by" date on the stamp you were given at the airport or your most recent border crossing.

No need to do a 90 day report since you would never (legally) be in Thailand for more than 90 days.

If you are married to a Thai and have the financial requirements (Baht 400,000 in a Thai bank for two months OR embassy certified income of at least Baht 40,000 per month), it might be more convenient to apply for an extension of stay based on marriage at your local immigration office. That could be done during the last 30 days of any 90 day permission to stay you get from a visa entry.

The extension would allow you to remain in Thailand for one year. No need to leave and return during the year, but you would need to report to your immigrations office every 90 days.
