I'll be there for three days....will likely have an MRT pass, but something nice and close to the hotel would be great. Not into import taxes..so some cold Tigers or Singha will be fine.....hopefully some promo girls or working class Thai ladies would be there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

There is absolutely nothing in that neighborhood.

Best suggestion - get on the MRT to Asoke station. Follow the exit through Exchange tower and Soi Cowboy is right there when you step out.

the Talad rod fai night market behind the esplanade shopping centre at MRT thailand cultural centre (2 stops down) is packed with bars and food.

Well worth a few beers

Driving past I noticed an irish bar at the new sanaam lum night bizarre also. This is 1 station away at MRT ratchadapisek. I havent been there yet though so cant comment.

wrong. Sukhumvit was ruined by the boiler room people....there are more ladyboys at NEP than anyplace on Earth. Next.

Is this a thread about prostitution, is this allowed?

sorry for not starting out my question with "My partner and I".....but, as difficult as it may be to see through the bottle bottoms of a TV regular, prostitution was not mentioned.

Load of nonsense, there is plenty to do in Lad Phrao, unless you are only interested in ree light areas.

Exit Union Square and walk towards Central. Lots of nice drinking pubs on both sides of the road. Music and beer girls with a sprinkle of uni girls. If you more adventurous, take bus to Imax (3 stops from Central) and you be hit with pubs and clubs on both sides of the road.

There's the rot fai beer bar area at the cultural center station. Its on the other side of the road. Go down the soi to the left of the mall. Esplanade or something like that. Just don't look for an esplanade, its a mall.

At the beginning of Lat Phrao Road. In front of the Union Mall and opposite. Plenty of bars filled with locals.

I don't see any mention in Bino's post about NEP (Nana Entertainment Plaza).

However, he did suggest Soi Cowboy which unless you want low class crappy bars I wouldn't recommend.

Get yourself to Thong Lo and check out some of bars there, or try one of my favourite new spots 'Havana Social Club' on Sukhumvit Soi 11.

Why don't you just say are there any sex workers in your area and you can exploite the local impoverished population- much easier.

Why don't you stick to the "Gay Forum," so you won't feel the need to make stupid, insulting remarks to straight people. Are single people, who reside here, and like to drink a few beers with fellow straight people now considered "sex tourists"?

Also the former Budda Bar, which is now called Playbar, on Lad Phrao Soi 8, just a few meters from Lad Phrao Road. Lots of young people, students, very good live music and good Thai food.

Oops sorry- will stick to the 'Gay Forum' in the future- many apologies. Come on- the OP was looking for working girls near home- not a glass of cold Leo or Chang over which to discuss the latest theories of dark energy or the meaning of life. A theme of many of my posts -' sex tourists' and long term residents seeking sex workers have destroyed the nature of this country- when did using prostitutes and exploiting the local population become socially acceptable? So- why not post your suggestions of where the OP can go within the vicinity of the Lad Prao MRT station?

Since when is looking for local girls equal with prostitution?

Would it help you to get out of Soi Cowboy, or are you stuck to the sticky floors?

Plenty of bars around Lat Phrao MRT Station - walk able or taxi, or one stop on the tube? Plenty of places along Ratchada as well.

Ratchayothin - multiple bars and restaurants

JJ - - multiple bars and restaurants

Around Union Mall - multiple bars and restaurants

Sena Nikom - Multiple bars and restaurants

Town in Town - Multiple bars and restaurants

Just get out on your feet and have a look around, there is a whole big wide world outside

Wow. Chap asks where to get a beer in lad phrao. Gets a load of responses about where to meet a prostitute on Sukhumvit.

Stay classy, Thaivisa.

"working class Thai ladies"......and you feel the need to start preaching...<deleted>, probably a worthless NGO worker out saving the World in his new SUV. I would tell you to get a grip, but since your only free hand is on your keyboard; I won't bother.

Obviously some people don't know the difference between "working class" and "working girl". Suggest that the vast majority of working class ladies might be offended.

OP.

there are several restaurant style pub places near Phahonyothin mrt..One MRT stop away

Go to the end of Lad Prao road and veer left..

Opposite Major ratchayothin there is also a nice alfresco style place that is very popular... Its a very short taxi ride from lad prao MRT..50 baht maybe

The ratchada Train markets at Thailand Cultural Centre MRT, behind esplanade mall...must be 40 bars behind there...mostly Thai...very noisy but a lot of fun

edit: Just noticed these are mentioned by a few other posters
