Loy Krathong Festival 2006 in Nakhon Ratchasima kicks off today

The Municipality of Nakhon Ratchasima Province is cooperating with the provincial Culture Office in organizing the Loy Krathong Festival 2006. The festival will take place in front of the Ancient City Wall in Pol Saen Road near Sala Loy Temple in Muang District on the 4th and 5th of this month.

Mr. Cherdchai Chokeratanachai, the provincial Municipality Mayor, said a traditional parade will be conducted today (Oct 4) from the Monument of Thoa Suranari to the Thammasat Court during the festivity. Other activities here include the presentation of many local artworks and plays. One of the plays will also be performed by the students from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya University.

Mr. Cherdchai said a banana vessel parade will also take place tomorrow (Oct 5). The famous Loy Krathong Beauty Contest will also be held along with traditional and musical presentations.
