there is supposed to be newer versions of the Galaxy J series (J710F) either already out or recently announced.

The shops I went to seemed to only have the older model from 2015. The older versions are not bad (J700F)

Can anyone confirm they they've seen the newer 2016 models (J710 or J510, or even J210) anywhere?

The new J series are not out yet in Thailand they just released them in south korea but it will not be long probably next month.
