Smallest room air conditioner available in Thailand.

Featured Replies

I'd like to find a 5000 BTU aircon here in Thailand, but have not been able to find anything smaller than 9000. Any suggestions?(house near Mukdahan)

The smallest split-system aircon I'm aware of is ~8500 BTU.

There's a reason why they start around 9000 BTU though - because that's what you need to cool down a typical small bedroom (3.5M x 3.0-3.5M).

If you really only need 5000 BTU, you're probably going to have to shop around for a portable AC - either that, or pay more for a 9000 BTU inverter aircon, which can run as low as 3000-4000 BTU while still remaining energy efficient.

dogs don't need aircon

my dogs like it.

Indeed our dog sleeps against our door during heat of the day to take advantage of AC escaping through threshold and when door opened. It is really really hot this year.

Indeed ^^^, why do you think the soi dogs (and sometimes soi pigs) hang around outside the 'Seven' waiting for the door to open and the cold come flooding out.

Anyway, I doubt our OP is going to find anything that small, best bet would be a 9,000 BTU inverter that can be dialled down to the lower power setting (it will do it automagically).

What is wrong with a split unit? Quick to install. You can take them with you, Waaaaaay more efficient and everyone can service them.
