Bruma commits to Blues

Teenage defender Jeffrey Bruma has pledged his loyalty to Chelsea by penning a new four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The 18-year-old, who arrived at the club in 2007, signed his first professional contract last summer and has gone on to

make four first-team appearances off the bench for the Blues.

Dutch international Bruma, who has recently undergone surgery on a hernia, is thrilled to have put pen to paper on a new deal, which will keep him at the London club until at least 2014.

"I am very happy to stay here," Bruma told Chelsea's official website. "I have been working to improve all the time I have been here and a next step is getting your next contract, and now it is time to improve again.

"I have made my international debut already and that was the aim for two or three years' time.

"It has come so early and when you reach your targets you obviously have to set new ones, so my new targets are to play as much as I can at Chelsea in the first team and get in the Dutch full squad again as soon as I am fit."

Bruma, who made his international debut for the Netherlands in a friendly against Ukraine last month, is currently racing to be fit following his recent surgery.

But the young stopper is confident he will be match-ready for the Carling Cup encounter against Newcastle later this month following his involvement in the tournament last season.

"The recovery is going pretty well and I have no pain where I had it before," he said.

"Now it is more muscle stiffness all over the body because your body has to get used to everything again.

"I don't expect to be out much longer because it is a new kind of surgery. I had one hernia operation in June on the left side and now I have had the right done so I can put it behind me and move on.

"As soon as I am back with the group training I have to show that I am completely fit and show the manager I can do it again."

Banging my Mrs last night_guess the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree at Chelsea.

Anyways, if she was average probably due to my son getting in the way while he was sucking on her tits.

I asked her this morning btw if she felt anything last night-she replied, for about one minute last night it felt like something was poking me in the leg_turned the light on to find I left a plastic coat hanger on the bed.

I love the way everyone harps on about the bad old days when Chelsea were a mid table team, I used to go back in the days and loved it, we lost more than we won but so what, it was a good day out, win draw or lose! now we have money and are one of the best teams in Europe and those other smaller clubs can't handle the success we are having. Yeah we spent a lot in the 1st couple of years when Roman came along and because of our success of course people will say that we bought the league! That always puts a smile on my face, its a ridiculous thing to say, we haven't been spending half as much as other clubs around us and are still winning leagues and trophies, will hopefully win the league again this year and have hardly spent a thing....what will the knockers say to that? I really can't wait until next week when we go to Pikey Park and smash those chavs again, this time with Lamps getting a hat-trick! :whistling:

Lamps fit to face Hammers

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Frank Lampard has recovered from a hernia operation to start against West Ham on Saturday.

The midfielder underwent surgery as recently as two weeks ago in Germany and the midfield star is expected to be ready for the trip to Upton Park.

The Blues currently top the Premier League table after three wins in a row, with 14 goals scored.

The Italian revealed to the Daily Star on Sunday: "For sure, Frank will be fit for the West Ham game."

However, Ancelotti denied that Lamparddeliberately put club before country after the 32-year-old pulled out of the national squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.

"No, we didn't decide at the start of the season to do this now.

"After the Stoke game, Frank was in a lot of pain.

"So he decided, after talking to the club doctor, to resolve and remove the problem immediately."

Meanwhile, Ancelotti has spoken about bringing 'felicity' to Chelsea supporters after the Champions unerring start to the season.

The West London side racked up 103 goals last campaign and the former AC Milan boss is happy to bring 'joy' to football lovers alike.

He told The Mail on Sunday: "Our aim is to play football to give joy, to give felicity to the people, to the fans and not just the Chelsea fans."

West Ham 1 - 3 Chelsea

Chelsea kept up their impeccable start to the season, hardly breaking sweat as they brushed aside a West Ham side who remain rock bottom of the table.

Michael Essien put the Blues in front inside two minutes with a free header.

And the second goal arrived in bizarre fashion as Matthew Upson's clearance struck Salomon Kalou's heel and ballooned into the net.

Essien rose above Tal Ben Haim to add a late third, before Scott Parker lobbed Petr Cech from the edge of the box.

West Ham's defeat, which looked inevitable from the moment Essien opened the scoring, leaves the east Londoners without a point in their first four Premier League games.

And if it seems too early to start talking about a crisis at Upton Park, manager Avram Grant desperately needs to find a formula which maximises the potential of a side containing a number of players of genuine quality.

The Hammers' fortunes could not contrast more starkly than those of their west London opponents, who have now scored 16 goals in four games this season, with Parker's effort the first they have conceded in the league since mid-April.

The game's opening followed a predictable pattern with Chelsea assuming control and launching an early attack which yielded a corner.

Didier Drogba's cross found Essien unmarked to head his team in front, despite Carlton Cole's efforts to head the ball clear.

Chelsea's second goal had more than a hint of farce about it as Hammers goalkeeper Rob Green failed to cling on to a low Drogba free-kick. Upson pounced on the loose ball but his clearance cannoned into Kalou's heel and looped into the net.

Grant's decision to line-up with a midfield diamond formation played into Chelsea's hands, by providing plenty of space for full-backs Ashley Cole and Paulo Ferreira to exploit.

When West Ham did get the ball, their four central midfielders seemed to get in each other's way, often resulting in possession being surrendered to the Blues.

One such instance almost led to a third goal for Chelsea as Valon Behrami lost the ball in midfield and Kalou's low shot was deflected wide by Upson.

Striker Victor Obinna, making his West Ham debut along with Lars Jacobsen, had two first-half chances to get the Hammers back in the game.

First, an inch-perfect Carlton Cole chip found the Nigerian in space, but his side-footed volley drifted a yard wide. Shortly afterwards, the forward on loan from Inter Milan cut inside from the left and blazed a powerful shot across the face of goal.

Ramires, Chelsea's £17m Brazilian signing, was largely a passenger on his debut - one long-range effort over the bar early in the second half probably his most noteworthy contribution.

West Ham made a brighter start to the second period, with substitute Kieron Dyer adding some much-needed thrust to their attacks.

But Chelsea continued to look more likely to score, Kalou whistling a left-footed curler just past the upright and Drogba drawing a sharp save from the diving Green.

And the Hammers goalkeeper was at full stretch once again to prevent Branislav Ivanovic from extending Chelsea's lead from close range.

The third goal eventually arrived seven minutes from time as the peerless Essien leapt at the far post to head home Ferreira's cross from the right.

West Ham finally got on the score sheet two minutes later courtesy of a moment of true class from Parker.

Cech punched a corner to the Hammers midfielder, who brilliantly cushioned a volley back over a crowd of players and into the far corner.

But the goal received a muted response from the Upton Park faithful, who are already sensing their side may face a tough battle to maintain their Premier League status.

MSK Zilina 1 - 4 Chelsea

Nicolas Anelka hit a brace as Chelsea easily beat MSK Zilina 4-1 in their UEFA Champions League Group F opener in Slovakia.

Michael Essien put the Blues ahead on 13 minutes when converting Anelka's low cross from the left.

Florent Malouda then played Anelka through on 24 minutes to net the visitors' second.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were three up four minutes later when Anelka tapped home after John Terry's header from a corner hit the crossbar.

Daniel Sturridge made sure of the win when netting three minutes after the restart after latching onto Yossi Benayoun's exquisite through pass.

The home side then pulled back a consolation via Tomas Oravec's tap in on 55 minutes after Petr Cech's parry hit Branislav Ivanovic on the head.

Earlier, Zilina began impressively with Momodou Ceesay firing high over the bar in the fourth minute.

The small ground was at its capacity of 11,000 and the home side were giving their fans something to shout about in the early stages.

Chelsea won their first corner in the ninth minute but Benayoun sent his shot into the arms of Martin Dubravka.

The English champions then wasted a free-kick on the left edge of the penalty area when Sturridge fired high over the bar from 20 yards.

But the Blues went in front in the 13th minute with a simple goal. Essien put Anelka clear on the left wing and when the cross arrived, Malouda stepped over it for Essien to fire home from eight yards - his third goal in two games.

Zilina almost levelled in the 15th minute when a free-kick from Robert Jez was fumbled by Cech but the Chelsea goalkeeper managed to stop the ball going into the net.

Zilina's Bello Babatounde then headed straight at Cech in the 23rd minute after a fine cross from Ceesay.

But Chelsea went 2-0 up in the 24th minute when Malouda found Anelka and he slipped the ball under Dubravka.

Sturridge almost made it 3-0 in the 27th minute but his 25-yard drive was tipped around the post.

But the Blues punished the home side from the corner which followed when Terry's header hit the bar and Anelka pounced to score his second from point-blank range.

Malouda should have made it 4-0 in the 37th minute but his shot was blocked by Mario Pecalka after Yuri Zhirkov had pulled the ball back to him from the touchline.

Cech was forced to make a fine save four minutes from the break when he dived to push a shot from Admir Vladavic to safety.

Zilina then squandered a real chance when Babatounde headed wide from an unmarked position on the edge of the six-yard box.

However, Chelsea increased their lead in the 48th minute when Benayoun played a superb ball through for Sturridge who rounded the Zilina goalkeeper and slipped the ball home.

Zilina responded immediately and Cech was forced into a fine save to deny Vladavic.

The home side finally reduced Chelsea's advantage in the 55th minute when Cech spilled a cross and the ball rebounded off Ivanovic before Oravec bundled home.

Zilina then went close to getting a second when Vladavic sent a rising drive just wide and substitute Tomas Majtan was inches away from hitting the target with an angled drive in the 65th minute.

Chelsea were living dangerously, but with a three-goal cushion they could afford to.

Ancelotti was distinctly unhappy on the touchline as the home side attacked in numbers.

The Slovakian home side had to be admired for their endeavour although Chelsea were hardly in top gear in the second half.

With 10 minutes left, Chelsea opted to hand a full debut to 17-year-old midfielder Josh McEachran. He replaced Benayoun who was applauded off for his fine performance.

Essien forced a fine save from Dubravka in the 82nd minute as the Ghanaian midfielder looked for another goal but it was the last real action of the game as Chelsea ran out easy winners.

Easy like Sunday morning!....just wish we weren't so sloppy in the 2nd half as I could of raked in the cash!

Chelsea 4 - 0 Blackpool

Chelsea brushed aside Blackpool to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to four points.

Salomon Kalou tapped home from a corner in the second minute before Florent Malouda struck from short range.

Didier Drogba's deflected strike made it 3-0 before Malouda scored his second with a low shot just before the break.

Petr Cech denied Alex Baptiste and in a much better second-half display the keeper saved a Gary Taylor-Fletcher shot with DJ Campbell also going close.

After the break Blackpool had an even share of the opportunities, but the game was already beyond the visitors by then.

The afternoon got off to the worst possible start for Blackpool, who managed to touch the ball just once before Chelsea opened the scoring after 71 seconds.

That solitary touch gave Chelsea a corner, from which an unmarked Kalou tapped home at the far post after Branislav Ivanovic had flicked on.

Chelsea were without injured duo John Terry and Frank Lampard while Nicolas Anelka was rested, but it did not prevent the home team from repeatedly carving open a Tangerines side that lacked shape and were extremely vulnerable to swift counter attacks.

Michael Essien and Drogba fashioned a simple finish for Malouda after 12 minutes and it did not take long before the party tricks started to appear, with Drogba playing one particularly audacious behind-the-leg pass.

Ashley Cole appeared to have the freedom of the left flank and a square ball from the England international was fired home by Drogba with a shot on the turn that took a significant deflection off defender Ian Evatt.

Tangerines boss Ian Holloway, who saw his team thrashed 6-0 at Arsenal in August, had included the more defensive Alex Baptiste for Brett Ormerod in his starting line-up, presumably to frustrate Chelsea.

But Holloway's ragged outfit were frequently outnumbered at the back and it took a good save from Matt Gilks to deny Drogba after the Ivorian's neat flick and turn had wrong-footed several Blackpool players.

Drobga played a raking pass from a central position that found Kalou, who in turn picked out Malouda for the France international to slot home the fourth with a low first-time finish on 41 minutes.

Blackpool could consider themselves unlucky not to have reduced the deficit with the scoreline at 2-0 but Baptiste's low rasping strike was amazingly saved by Cech.

Dekel Keinan should also have scored with a header from a corner that skimmed wide as virtually everything went wrong for the Tangerines in the opening 45 minutes.

The visiting side took the fight to their opponents after the restart and forced a goal-line clearance from Ivanovic after Campbell took the ball around Cech and shot from a tight angle.

Charlie Adam then picked out Luke Varney out with a delicious pass but his team-mate skewed his volley well wide.

Chelsea should have been awarded a penalty after Keinen tugged Malouda, but Blackpool continued to threaten at the other end as Campbell almost bundled the ball home from inside the six-yard box.

Holloway had brought on Taylor-Fletcher for Neal Eardley at the break and the striker almost scored with his superb floated effort that Cech did well to save.

Malouda spurned two opportunities to complete his hat-trick before Tangerines substitute Marlon Harewood smashed a close-range strike into the side netting.

Cole then had a strike blocked and Drogba missed the target as Chelsea failed to build on their half-time advantage but Carlo Ancelotti's side nonetheless have a goal difference of +20 after five Premier League fixtures.

I watched the first half of the game, well impressive.

The difference between the team that has just managed to climb out of the Championship and the Champions themselves is just a world apart. I wish my team ( Sheff Utd. ) could play like that, we would need to get a sugar daddy on board also though as they are skint!

Is that Uncle Fester on the bench?

He looks like Ray Wilkins, uncanny.
