Heroin Gang Flees Shootout But Ditches Cash and Drugs

CityNews – Following a tip-off, police and the Narcotics Suppression Bureau managed to seize one million baht and a bag of heroin from a drug trafficking gang after a gun fight left one wounded and nobody arrested as the gang managed to flee the scene.

When the gang arrived at the police checkpoint in Mai Ai, Chiang Mai, a gun fight quicky ensued, leaving one gang member presumed injured as there was blood stains on the ground, found after the gang sucessfully fled.

Not again ... the drug dealers got away again ...but the police recovered some drugs and some money ......sigh

I guess a K-9 unit with trail hounds and attack dogs might be considered sometime in the future.

Thai police get the info as to travel plans of drug dealers, stop or intercept the people they are awaiting, but they actually catch/arrest a small %. Are the drug people that much faster afoot than police? Bet they can not outrun a good attack dog and a trail hound will run them to ground pertty quick.

To have 1 million baht, plus drugs, they must have been making deliveries of goods along a given route.

Much better for the gang to get away. That way there is no-one to mention that there was actually 3 million baht and not one.
