Standard motorbike taxis usually operate within a fixed geographical area (for originating), delineated by local authorities, from a fixed gathering point or stand.

Many people may have to walk to their nearest stand. Some people prefer to get picked up at their present position - they may be infirmed, it may be raining, etc.

Many people call or message a known, local driver to come pick them up, assuming they are in their "home" area.

People here also use motorbike drivers for all sorts of errands: picking up/parcel delivery/bill payment etc.

I think any app. might make it easier to "hail" a motorbike. Same, same as a taxi app.: you can find a driver who wants to transport you, and they will come pick you up at your origination point. So you don't have to walk out of a sub-soi or moo baan, maybe severl Km, to hail a passing taxi.
