PRACHUAP KIRI KHAN: A fun video clip has been doing the rounds of social media - it features a bunch of Thai guys a little the worse for drink trying to tame a five metre long python.

The monster snake gets wrapped round the legs of a man as another tries to help and their mate shouts out: "Are the pair of you drunk or what...."

The snake had emerged from undergrowth as some workers were flattening an area of land for a temporary car park for a funeral at a house in Ron Thong sub district of Prajuab Khiri Khan on Tuesday, reported Thairath.

The house owner had some friends who were rescue workers and he asked them to deal with the snake resulting in the fun and games.

After the python was brought under control and placed in a sack local villagers started putting two and two together about the frequent disappearance of cats, chickens and ducks in the area recently. They were happy when the serpent was taken far away to be returned to nature.

The clip was posted online by 28 year old Pairat Yotphirut.
