Get out and don't come back - US man and Thai wife tossed out of their own Hua Hin condo

If local thugs could just take property as they please half the foreign owned condos would be gone. Believe it or not, there are laws and protection here. Situations like this is nearly always the wife using the property as collateral on a loan that she can't pay back. Make a big scene about people stealing the property to cover what she has done.

The condominium act to allow foreigners to purchase condos was done in order to ensure companies make money and profit by selling condos to foreigners (not enough Thais at the suitable price points to purchase up the condos).

Therefore it is in Thailand's and business' interest that there is a good image regarding the legitimacy and applicability of purchasing condos by foreigners.

If it turns out that foreigners can buy but suddenly loose their condos this would have a negative impact on sales of condos. That would be money lost. And that would be bad.

Therefore things like this won't happen legitimately unless there's a really really good reason (being a foreigner is not sufficient).

Sounds about right for Pattaya. What do you think happens to the condo after they jump over the balcony?

Foreigner dies, a bit later a Thai family just move in.

Nobody cares who is living in a condo, as long as the fees are paid every month.

You could probably break into any long term unoccupied condo, move in, pay the fees, and management would look the other way.
